Summer Camp!

  • Summer camp: The troop is registered for Camp Daniel Boone from 6 - 12 July. The troop will drive 5 July to camp, spend the night (will incur additional $25) and visit Sliding Rock in Pisgah National Forest on 6 July before checking in. Final total payments are due on 8 May; Check/cash to Troop 840 that Jenn Gould will collect at meetings.

Spring Camporee Information

  • Spring Camporee, April 11-13.
  • Spring Camporee is April 11-13 at Izaak Walton League of America (IWLA). Registration fee is $25 for scouts and $15 for leaders is due by the April 2, 2025, Troop Meeting.

Unit Commissioner

Hello all!

I will be stepping down as your unit commissioner in December.  I LOVE Troop 840, but I am unable to make the weekly meetings.  I will be changing jobs on Wednesday and that will require my full attention.

Safe Swim Defense

Updated Safe Swim Defense Training Released

In collaboration with the BSA National Aquatics Subcommittee, ScoutingU has released an updated version of “Safe Swim Defense” online training that is mobile compatible. Adults supervising a swimming activity must have completed Safe Swim Defense training within the previous two years. To access the updated training, log onto my.scouting.org and search the BSA Learn Center catalog for “Safe Swim Defense.” Additional resources on BSA aquatics programs are also available.
