Jamboree 2023

Posted on Aug 24 2022 - 9:17am

The 2023 National Jamboree is right around the corner! Registration is open and we're looking forward to seeing you there!

The National Capital Area Council (NCAC) is looking to send 14 contingent units to the Jamboree. What does this mean? Scouts register individually via the National site and will then be assigned to an NCAC unit to attend. There is a limit of 8 Scouts per home unit who will be assigned to a contingent unit. Jamboree works a bit different than summer camp as Troops and Crews do not register to attend as a unit.

FAQ
Q. How quickly will slots fill?
A. While we are never sure, last summer's courses filled very quickly and Winter course filled in a matter of hours. We have increased the number of participant slots to try and give as many Scouts the opportunity to attend NYLT as possible. We strongly recommend registering early to lock in your slot.

Q. What is the cost?
A. Summer 2022 course fees are $305.

Q. If the course I want fills up should I add myself to the WAITLIST?
A. Yes. It is always possible a spot will open and we strongly encourage families to add their Scouts to the waitlist.

Q. What will your masking, distancing and other covid policies be this summer?
A. We will follow the covid protocols NCAC has in place for Council programs.

Q. What are the age, rank and other requirements to attend NYLT?
A. Find this and other NYLT information on our main website at: https://www.ncacbsa.org/national-youth-leadership-training/

NYLT is an exciting 6-day program designed for youth to learn leadership skills that will help them succeed in Scouting and in life!
